NEW FANTASY JOURNEYS TO THE BEGINNING OF TIME
An Allegory of How Two Modern-Day Teenagers Survive the Big Bang
Author J. Suthern Hicks is celebrating his latest book, Where the Garden Begins, with a release party at Romancing the Bean Cafe in Burbank, CA on May 21st, 2016. Romancing the Bean is located at 3413 West Magnolia Blvd., Burbank, CA 91505. The event is from 8 PM until 10 PM. Along with a book signing, there will be live music and door prizes. Full menu is available at regular prices.
Upon its debut, Where the Garden Begins reached #1 on Amazon’s list of new Christian Fantasies. The two protagonists, Seth and Melissa, exemplify typical modern-day teenagers. But when they unexpectedly find themselves trapped in a supernatural world that challenges the very core of their beliefs, they are forced to put aside their sibling rivalry and immature ways. The brother and sister work together to find a way back home and in the process discover that faith and science may not be mutually exclusive. Along the often harrowing, sometimes whimsical, but always exciting journey, family bonds are strengthened and new friendships formed.
J. Suthern Hicks originally hails from Little Rock Arkansas, but has called Los Angeles home for the last twenty years. In 2014 he released the children’s book Charlie and Chocolate’s Purrfect Prayer. Several of his plays have been produced in Los Angeles, including the acclaimed Turtle Tears which received accolades from the LA Times and Critics’ Choice from LA Weekly in 1995. In January 2013 the band Seven Years recorded a collection of his songs on the album Time to Change, now available on iTunes.
